BURNHAM United A look almost certain to finish bottom of Division Two of the Weston & District League following Saturday’s 3-0 reverse at home to St George E-in-G Reserves.
United currently prop up the division with two games left to play, knowing only two wins will lift them off of the bottom – but Churchill Club 70 Reserves, one place above them, have three games in hand.
United A host Locking on Saturday.
In Division One, Berrow Reserves suffered a fifth defeat in seven games when they went down 3-1 at Winscombe Reserves – they travel to Draycott this weekend.
In Division Three, Wedmore could only manage a point in a 2-2 draw at league strugglers Winscombe A.
The result all but puts an end to their title hopes with just three games left to play – they travel to Westend on Saturday.
