BURNHAM United have appointed Steve Hainsby as first team manager from the start of next season.

Hainsby is currently the manager of Burnham under 18s and under 15s and will take up the position at the start of the season, whilst continuing to manage the Under 16s for next season.

A club statement said: "Burnham, who have struggled on the field this season, are very positive about this appointment.

"Steve will bring a freshness to the whole squad and is tasked with improving the recent results.

"Steve will appoint his coaching team before the start of next season and will be a key link between juniors and seniors."

Chairman Matt Counsell said: “I have personally been impressed with the passion and enthusiasm that Steve has shown in getting this role and I believe that this will only have a positive effect on the players and the club as a whole.

"Obviously this season on the field had bit gone the way everyone had hoped but there are exciting times ahead with the new changing room and clubhouse set to open in July, and we are confident that Steve will assemble a team to match these facilities”.

Steve Hainsby said: "I'm really excited about being appointed Burnham United manager starting next season.

"It's a fantastic time to be joining the club with the new facilities currently being built for the start of next season.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge ahead with the mixture experience and youth at the club I'm hoping bring some exciting times and get the team back up the table where Burnham United belong”.

David Worthington and Oliver Taylor will continue in their roles as Reserves and A team managers. Pre-season will begin in July and all players welcome.
