BERROW failed to stop the rot on Saturday, losing 2-1 at Fry Club in a result which stretches their losing run to six consecutive matches and sees them remain stuck on 19 points.

They remain third bottom in the table ahead of Clevedon United and Yatton Athletic, but the former have seen results improve in recent weeks to leave Berrow looking nervously over their shoulders.

Burnham United Reserves also lost as they went down to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Winscombe Reserves in Division 2W.

United were looking for a response having been thumped by bottom side Kewstoke Lions last weekend, but Aidan Malcolm, Zack Warbutton-Clothier and Andrew Ware netted for the visitors to leave Burnham’s second string above the bottom two only on goal difference.

In Division 2 of the Weston & District League, Berrow Reserves shared the spoils with Clapton in Gordano after a 1-1 draw.

The result took Berrow to sixth above Worle Rangers, whose match with Wedmore was postponed, consequently denying Wedmore the chance to go level on points with Portishead Caledonian Thistle at the top of the table.

Wedmore were not the only local side left kicking their heels, with Highbridge Town’s Somerset County Division 1W match with Uphill Castle also falling foul of the inclement weather.
