HAVING suffered eight straight league defeats, Berrow will perhaps be grateful they find themselves in cup action this weekend.

They are taking on Hengrove Athletic Reserves in the Somerset Senior Cup with a place in the semi-finals at stake.

In Division 1W of the Somerset County League, Burnham United host struggling Combe St Nicholas in search of three points which could see them rise to seventh.

Highbridge Town, meanwhile, will be looking to build on last weekend’s point as they travel to fifth-placed Somerton Town.

They go into the weekend six points above the bottom two, so a victory would put any lingering relegation fears to rest.

Wedmore are away at lowly Winscombe A in Division 2 of the Weston & District League knowing that a win will take them back up into second as Westend have a cup fixture.

In Division 4, Burnham A face a stern test as they make the trip to table-topping Nailsea United B.
