Somerset County Division 1W
Burnham Utd 8, Clevedon Utd Res 1

BURNHAM continued their fine form with an emphatic victory at home to Clevedon Reserves on Saturday.

The visitors arrived hovering near the bottom of the table and Burnham showed no mercy as they hit eight past their beleaguered defence.

Top marksman for the day was Jordan Eldridge, who hit a hat-trick, with Charlie Harding adding two more.

Harry Penfold, Joe Selway and an own goal completed the total.
Jacob Horton scored Clevedon’s consolation.

The victory saw Burnham go above local rivals Berrow & Highbridge on goal difference.

Winscombe 3, Berrow & Highbridge 0

BERROW & Highbridge’s barren spell continued when they travelled up the M5 to Winscombe on Saturday.

Goals from Michael Flint (2) and Jory Cureton brought the home side a comfortable victory.

As a result, B&H lost their third match of the campaign after a bright start to the season.

On Saturday, they can take their eye of the poor league form when they travel to Minehead for a Somerset Senior Cup 2nd Round match.

Burnham Utd make the trip to Ashton & Backwell Reserves in Division 1W.

Burnham Utd Reserves were out of action last weekend but will be looking for three points when they welcome bottom club Pensford for a Division 2 encounter on Saturday (ko 3pm).
