THE region’s football teams will be hoping for an improvement in the weather on Saturday after being largely washed out last weekend.

All of Burnham United’s matches were postponed, with Berrow & Highbridge also left kicking their heels.

Wedmore were the only side in the region to see any action, as they lost 3-1 at KVFC in Division 1 of the Weston-super-Mare & District League - they host the same opposition in the reverse fixture this weekend.

Also this Saturday, Burnham United host Glastonbury in Division 1W of the Somerset County League.

Burnham are ninth going into the clash, with Glastonbury in sixth, but just two points separate the sides.

Also in that division, Berrow & Highbridge travel to third-placed Worle.

Burnham United Reserves travel to Banwell in Division 2, the A team host Yatton & Cleeve United A in the League Knockout Cup and the B team travel to Nailsea United C in Division 5 of the Weston & District League.
