WEDMORE are languishing at the bottom of the table following their latest 94-run defeat to Wellington 2nds.

Wellington posted a challenging 217-4 thanks to an unbeaten 99 from M Salter with Wedmore’s M Boley the pick of the bowlers, taking 3-48.

In reply, L Patch (32) opened up well but lost regular wickets around him and only P Patch down the order helped to make the score respectable as he hit 38 not out before running out of partners.

In Division 6, East Huntspill kept their winning record intact with a five-wicket victory over Glastonbury Lambs.

All the wickets were shared between the bowlers with G Gass (2-58), I Cooke (2-9), A Chedzey (2-28) and R Pomeroy (2-9) all doing the damage to help dismiss Glastonbury for 135.

In reply, East Huntspill lost early wickets despite Derek Kidner (ten), K Butt (14) and S Morley (22) contributing.

But the team were indebted to a classy 41 not out from Chedzey with, with M Crook (18 not out) steered East Huntspill over the winning line.

In Division 8N, Wedmore 2nds suffered a hefty nine-wicket defeat in their match against Belvedere 2nds.

Only numbers nine and ten, T Ingle (12) and J Macquarrie (19 not out), hit double figures as Wedmore were routed for 91.

Despite a run out, Wedmore were unable to make inroads into the Belvedere 2nds line-up and they chased the runs down with ease.

In Division 9NW, East Huntspill 2nds produced a excellent batting display to see off Trull 2nds.

They posted 208-3 thanks to an unbeaten 71 from opening batsman D West along with solid knocks from J Picton (64) and J Melhuish (41 not out).

Trull lost early wickets in reply as P Spelman (2-51) and K Crenol (2-38) put East Huntspill on top.

J Hicks (2-42) and K Watts (2-7) kept things tight in the middle orders and once the dangermen of B Hocking (60) and J Smith (57) were out, Trull crumbled to 173 all out.

Huntspill and District 2nds were given a walkover by Mark 2nds.
