Somerset League Division 6
East Huntspill 164-8 beat Taunton Deane Cavillers 161 by 2 wkts
HAVING suffered their first defeat of the season to Banwell last week, East Huntspill wanted to redeem themselves back to winning ways.
Captain Mark Crook lost the toss, and Huntspill were put into the field but fantastic bowling displays from M Crook, who took four wickets, A Chedzoy, who claimed three scalps and Kieran Stamp and Paul Bagg also chipped in to help bowl Taunton Deane out in 43 overs with a total of 161 runs.
East Huntspill had a very nervy couple of hours with the bat, with openers M Cooke and M Edwards falling short of runs.
However, an impressive and quick 36 from 38 balls from R Pomeroy got Huntspill back on track.
Chedzoy (42) kept his nerve while a further four wickets fell and he, alongside Bagg, edged towards the winning line to secure victory by two wickets. A great all-round team performance secured maximum points for East Huntspill who remain top of the table ahead of this Saturday's trip to Castle Cary 2nds.
