A CRICKETER from Lympsham has been selected in the England Women’s Academy Squad to play against Pakistan in June.
Sophie Luff, 19, who currently captains the England under 19 side, will play in the three-match series, which consists of two Twenty20 matches and one 50 over match and starts on the 27th June.
The Cardiff Metropolitan student is delighted to have been selected. She said:
“I’m really pleased to have got the nod, I feel like it’s been a long time coming. Hopefully I can showcase what I can do and it will be good to play and have an opportunity to play against the best players in the world. I’m training hard every Wednesday night and playing every Sunday so I will be well prepared”
Sophie, who plays her club cricket at Bath, has already recorded scores of 93 not out for Somerset against Durham, and 85 and 100 not out for Bath.
