BURNHAM lost a closely fought contest against Wellington by ten runs on Saturday.
In pursuit of 232, Burnham started well with openers Dalrymple (52) and Bloodworth (51) both hitting half centuries. Driver added a fluent 46, but the top three lacked support from the middle-order.
House and Harris both fell cheaply and only Tipler (27), added anything of substance and the chase fell away as the wickets tumbled.
Earlier, Green had taken 4-69 to restrict Wellington to 232-8 from their 45 overs. Driver chipped in with 3-60 from his twelve overs, but the Wellington batting line-up continued to pile on the runs.
Smith (0-28) and Harris (0-18) bowled economically without reward, but Wellington posted a competitive total, one that proved to be just a few too many for Burnham.
