IN THE Somerset Cricket League Division 4, Mark beat Cranmore by 49 runs in a high-scoring affair. G Lloyd finished agonisingly short of a century, as he carried his bat for 99 not out in Mark's total of 263-1 from their 45 overs. Lloyd's opening partner S Cattermole made 84 and number three E Lewis finished 59 not out as Mark put the Cranmore bowling to the sword. In reply, Cranmore were bowled out for 214, with three wickets apiece for S Cattermole (3-39), D Stevens (3-65) and M Mitchell (3-42).

In Division 3, Wedmore were edged out by just 6 runs against Wembdon, despite 59 from P Patch. Chasing 184 for victory, Wedmore were all out for 177 in the final over. Earlier, M Boley (3-55) and N Emery (3-39) had helped restrict Wembdon to a mediocre total, but in pursuit, Wedmore fell just short.

Wedmore II crashed to 99 all out in pursuit of Chilton Podern II 145, despite 22 from C Major. T Ingle bowled economically to claim 3-20 from his seven overs, but a poor batting display saw Wedmore finish 46 runs short.

Huntspill and District II cruised to a four wicket victory over Wedmore A in Division 9NW, thanks to 5-15 from J Podbury. His five-wicket haul helped to bowl Wedmore out for 120, with F Berry also taking 3-33. Huntspill's chase started in ragged fashion, but 32 not out from D Counsell saw them home with four wickets to spare.

East Huntspill II finished 41 runs short as they attempted to chase down Uphill Castle Crusaders 202-9. Three wickets apiece for B Gowan (3-62), K Watts (3-33) and J Hicks (3-53) helped restrict Uphill to a reachable score, but Huntspill were bowled out for 161, with K Watts (41), the only batsman to get going.
