HUNTSPILL remained unbeaten with a three wicket win against Frome on Saturday, thanks to a brilliant half-century from Dan Cavill.

Cavill scored 77 as Huntspill chased down Frome's 203-9 inside 36 overs.

Huntspill started in sloppy fashion as a number of dropped catches and misfields allowed Frome to get off to a steady start. But the home side fought back, as wickets from J Dibble (4-21) and C Organ (2-42) dragged the game back in Huntspill's direction.

Chasing 204 for victory, Huntspill raced to 40 in the fifth over, thanks to a quick-fire 30 from S Eley. He was bowled with the score on 44, but Cavill stayed firm, continuing his recent good form as the score went towards a 100. The loss of both Slack and Tippetts threatened to derail the chase, but Lismore joined Cavill and played an aggressive innings which threatened to take the game out of Frome's reach. Tippetts was dismissed for 34 as he hit a long hop straight to the fielder and when Dibble inexcusably ran himself out, Huntspill were still 44 short of victory with only 4 wickets remaining.

But as Cavill passed his half century, he launched a savage attack on the Frome bowlers, going from 50 to 77 in the space of 8 balls. Clarke (10*) was a great foil with Cavill but the game was finished in style with CJ Organ hitting a four & a six to give Huntspill the win with more than nine overs to spare.
