IN the Somerset Cricket League Division 3, Wedmore were beaten by Uphill Castle II by 34 runs, despite a fine all-round display from M. Boley.
Boley scored 83 and took 2-39, but it wasn’t enough for Wedmore who failed to chase down Uphill’s 202-6. P. Patch also chipped in with 26 for Wedmore.
In Division 4, Mark crashed to an eight wicket defeat at the hands of Curry Rivel. Batting first, Mark could only manage 104-9, with S. Cattermole scoring 36 and J. Chinnock 17.
In reply, Curry Rivel cruised to victory, with only S. Cattermole (2-32) able to make any sort of breakthrough.
Wedmore II lost out to Cranmore II by three wickets in Division 8N.
Batting first, Wedmore were all out for 136, with some late hitting from T. Ingle (28) and C. Maguire (18) giving the total some respectability.
Ingle then took two wickets to peg Cranmore back but they edged over the line with just three wickets remaining.
