EAST Huntspill II were comfortable six-wicket winners against Weston IIII on Saturday, thanks to 92 not out from J Picton.
Chasing 186 to win, Picton took his side to victory with ten overs to spare and was ably supported by R Cave (36) and K Crenol (23 not).
Earlier, Cave had also taken 6-39 to help bowl Weston out for 185. N Alway (2-31) and K Watts (1-17) also chipped in to set Huntspill a straight-forward looking chase.
But their reply didn't get off to the greatest of starts as they lost K Butt (9), J Hicks (9) and K Watts (0) in the opening five overs. Batting at number four, Picton took control of the innings and began to rebuild. He, together with bowling hero Cave steadied the ship with a crucial 60-run partnership. When Cave was eventually dismissed for 36, Crenol joined Picton and the pair sealed the victory in the 34th over.
