SAM Lillycrop continued his impressive form this season with a scintillating century as Huntspill and District smashed Weston III by 177 runs on Saturday.

The opener struck 182 not out, a score believed to be the highest by a Huntspill and District player in league cricket, as the home side cruised to victory.

Matt Counsell won the toss on a blistering hot day and had no hesitation in batting first on a used wicket.

Huntspill started steadily with Cavill and Lillycrop added 47 in the opening 12 overs, before Cavill edged behind for 13.

Lillycrop soon got into the swing of things and dispatched 20 off a single over to race past 50 and take the score up towards 100.

Huntspill lost Slack & Randell in the space of two, but Tippetts was next in and proved to be the perfect foil for Lillycrop as he rotated the strike at will.

Lillycrop reached his third century of the season with a boundary through mid-wicket and from this point on, he played with even greater freedom; smashing the ball to all parts as the scoreboard raced past 200. The innings closed on 293-3 with Tippetts on 59 and Lillycrop not out on 182.

Organ and Tippetts gave Huntspill the best possible start as they reduced the visitors to 1-3 and then 15-4, with the seamers both taking two wickets apiece.

Lismore soon got in on the action with two wickets in two balls to ensure that Weston’s chase wasn’t going anywhere and Lillycrop capped a fine individual performance with a run out, as Weston crashed to 116 all out.
