Lympsham Sunday Development XI 208 beat Middlezoy Sunday XI 181 for 8 by 27 runs
HAVING opted to bat and suffered the early loss of F. Grandfield, Craig Scriven (47) and Jack Luff (51) repaired the Lympsham innings with a second wicket stand of 95, and once they departed Adam Micklewright (11), Max Gregory (14), Gary Hutton (14) and Liam Morris (13) all got starts, but wickets fell regularly, but strong shots by Tom Gooding (30no) got his side past 200.
Zoy’s star bowler was M. Wilkins with 4-11.
In reply, Middlezoy reached 87 without loss at 20 overs before Gary Hutton (1-20), Jack Luff (2-23) and Craig Scriven (1-18) slowed their progress.
Gary Hutton, behind the stumps, took take a nasty eye injury from a flying bail which sent him off to hospital, and Zoy increased the run rate with Lympsham’s reduced numbers to get within touching distance of the winning post.
Lympsham captain Tom Gooding (2-5) brought himself on with 30 needed off three overs and tempted the dangerous Warren (42) into one big shot too many, ending Zoy’s hopes.
