IT WAS a miserable afternoon for East Huntspill II as they suffered a nine-wicket humbling at the hands of Bridgwater Sports in Division Eight South of the Somerset Cricket League.
Nine-man Easts were shot out for just 30 batting first as Bridgwater Sports showed little mercy for their depleted side – before knocking the runs off for the loss of just one wicket.
K Crenol top scored for Easts with 12 and took the only wicket to return figures of 1-12, but his side were comfortably second best.
In Division Two, Wedmore’s game with Wellington finished in a draw – and in Division Five, East Huntspill first team were 108 run victors over Mark.
M Edwards (65no) and Rob Pomeroy (40) top scored for Easts as they posted 241 batting first, before Pomeroy (3-45), P Bagg (3-14) and M Crook (2-17) ran through the Mark line-up to seal an emphatic win.
Huntspill & District II suffered a heavy defeat at Lydford after being shot out for 80 in reply to Lydford’s 182-9.
A Jarvis top scored with 27, while J Peace took 3-23.
Elsewhere in the division, Wedmore A were beaten by five wickets by Uphill Castle Crusaders.
Meanwhile, Wedmore II recorded their fifth win of the season with 83-run triumph over Long Sutton in Division 9SE
