A REMARKABLE spell of bowling from Ian Harris helped Wedmore to a 75-run victory over Leigh-on-Mendip in Division Four of the Somerset Cricket League.

Earlier, Phil Patch (29), S Morris (28) and M Boley (20) top scored for Wedmore as they posted 186-8 from their 45 overs.
The Leigh reply began well, with J Harvey (21) and D Cox (41), but as soon as Harris got the ball in his hand, the game turned on its head.
He was well supported at the other end by J Burgess (2-21) and A Petters (1-19), to complete a hard-fought win.
In Division Five, East Huntspill were 15-run winners at Belvedere thanks to a five-wicket haul from P Bagg.

Earlier, Rob Pomeroy (40) and N Hodge (28) had top scored for Easts.
Lymphsam were six wicket winners at Street 2nd XI in Division Three, thanks mainly to two wickets from M Mitchell and L Morris (both 2-25).
The pair were the pick of the Lympsham bowlers to help restrict Street to 147-8 from 45 overs, before G Hutton (41), D Luff (28), R Ford (35) and S Luff (26no) saw them home for the loss of four wickets.
But wasn’t such a good day for Lympsham 2nd XI who went down by seven wickets at home to Watchet.
A Hall (77), R Simpson (52) and S Bruce (52no) saw the hosts score 260-5 batting first, but 83 from E Jeromson and 81 not out from S Broadley guided Watchet to victory in quick-fire time, reaching their target in just 39.2 overs.
Elsewhere in the division, Wedmore 2nd XI suffered a heavy eight-wicket defeat at the hands of Wells 2nd XI, after being bowled out for just 88.
R Macarthur top scored with 36, but the next highest score was M Lacey (10), while there were four wickets apiece for M Rivers (4-29) and D Gooch (4-26) on the Wells’ side.

In Division 9NW, Huntspill and District 2nd XI beat Wedmore A by 133 runs, as they successfully defended 224-8.
T Mccollum (3-15), J Podbury (2-12) and K Dibble (2-16) were the pick of the Huntspill bowlers, as they bowled Wedmore out for 91 – after Jack Peace (41), Tom Garner (43) and Matt Cavill (26) had helped them post a match-winning total.
Elsewhere in 9NW, East Huntspill 2nd XI lost out to Cranmore 2nd XI by two wickets in a low-scoring affair.
Batting first, they were bowled out for 74 with C Holley (27) top scoring – and they nearly pulled off an unlikely win, taking eight Cranmore wickets before eventually losing in the 28th over.
