THE leading teams in the Premier Division of the Burnham, Highbridge & District Ladies’ Skittles League, Lightbulbs and Nitwits, have both suffered defeats.

Bristols must have thought Christmas had come early when they took the points by a good margin from Lightbulbs at Basonbridge Inn alley 1.

Nitwits fell on their home George alley to Pin Ups by five.

Maybee’s won by 25 against Crown Jewels and move to third in the table. Eight Belles took some needed points from their game with visitors Hotshots and Blinders lost by 23 to Country Girls.

In Division 1, Cannonballs are still top by one point as, in a very low scoring game with Berrow Club B, they came out winners.

Wayward Wanderers are second as they won by a pin against Young Ones at Laburnum House and Tri-ards managed to take the points from their game with Berrow Breezers.

Three teams lead the way in Division 2: Applecatchers, who beat Coasters; Burnham Utd, who won by just three against Pawlett Legion at the Ritz Club; and Wanderers, who travelled to the Red Cow and took the points from bottom-placed Red Devils.

Old Railway took the points on their Highbridge Social Club alley by nine from Coopers Boozers who had Debbie Williams top scoring with 71.

The committee wish all members a very Happy Christmas and successful New Year
