TERRY Warburton has registered an incredible 40 points to win the Enmore Seniors Tartan Putter.

He finished two ahead of Jeffrey Carter who beat Keith Calvert on countback, both scoring 38.

In the Monthly Medal and Nigel Gange, Division 1 saw Jake Bovington best Sean Jones and Nicholas Rendell on countback (all nett 68).

Division 2 went to Russell Cross with a super nett 66; Nigel Panter was second and George Salter third.

A nett 67 from Neil Anderson was enough for him to win Division 3 ahead of Daniel O’Loughlin and Alan Burland.

In the Club Medal, it was very tight at the top, with a four-way card play-off required after four rounds of nett 72 were returned.

Steve James came out on top, with Paul Thorogood second, Neil Whistler third and Nigel Redman fourth.

Scores: White and Red Tees - 1 Rodney Cook 38, 2 Daphne Priddy 38, 3 Matt Lazenby 37, 4 Nigel Redman 37, 5 Matthew Rich 36, 6 Sarah Blake 36, 7 Daniel O’Loughlin 36, 8 Stuart Woodley 36, 9 Bernard Ochman 36, 10 Douglas Read 35, 11 Stephen Bird 34, 12 Angie Bowden 34, 13 Heather Saxton 34.

Enmore Park Seniors, meanwhile, endured two disappointing back-to-back home defeats – against the seniors of Sherborne and Teignmouth.

Sherborne came in with a 5½-2½ victory, and although the Teignmouth match was much closer, Enmore were defeated by 4½ matches to 3½.

PHIL Hodgson completed the double for September at Brean Golf Club as he added the Division 1 Stableford to his recent Medal success.

He scored 40 points to beat the fast-finishing Adam Cox by one.

Hodgson didn’t have the best score of the day on Sunday, though, as that honour went to Division 2 winner Tony Richards.

The Welshman beat Hodgson’s total by one as he enjoyed a three-point winning margin over Pete Dunn.

Roger Broom was the final winner, beating Roger Phillips by four.

The previous day the final Open event of the season took place at Brean, with the Charity Open raising money for CLAPA, The Cleft Lip and Palate Association.

Almost 40 pairs took to the course, but Scott Lismore and CJ Organ’s stunning score of 53 points in the betterball stableford gave them a comfortable win.

At the end of the day just under £500 was raised for the charity, to be directed locally to support children and families affected by Cleft.

The Seniors contested both their Monthly events last week, with Pete Douglas beating Brian Read by one in Division 1.

Two days later John Hale won the Stableford and the Chairman’s Cup, after a stunning round of 44 points in some dismal conditions, while Linda Edmondson won the September Ladies Medal on Thursday.
