ENMORE Park Seniors completed their 2017 season with David Pascoe’s final game in charge at home to local rivals Minehead.

The captain welcomed back several members who had been on a week of intensive golf in Spain playing with ex-pat Keith Norcutt’s colleagues.

Clearly the skipper himself should have made the trip, as a dose of sunshine might have done his game the world of good!

But his Enmore team still managed a welcome victory, by 3½ matches to 2½.

Enmore’s points were won by Graham Pain with Carl Netto (4 & 3) and Doug Read with Tony Pomeroy (4 & 2), with three matches being halved.

The whole squad thanked Pascoe for his role in making 2017 a great season.

DAVE Bradley has certainly developed a liking for the November Monthly Stableford at Brean as, for the second year running, he produced his best round of the year in the event.

He carded a superb 44 points to secure top spot in Division 2 and with it retain the Sam Smalldon Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the best score on the day.

He held a three-point advantage over Paul McLanaghan in their division, but his overall winning margin was just two as Division 1 victor Pete Barton returned 42 points.

Barton also was two points clear of his nearest challengers, as Steve Bateman defeated Paul Jones after a countback for second position.

Trevor Searle topped Division 3 with his 41-point haul and enjoyed a comfortable winning margin of five points over second-placed Nigel Ellis.

Ian Rogers, meanwhile, enjoyed a bumper payout the previous day when he scooped first place in the Winter League stableford event.

He scored 41 points, which was matched by Barrie Tucker, but Rogers had the better back nine to relegate the in-form Tucker into a runners-up position for the second time in a week.

Rogers also scored the only two of the day on the fourth hole and therefore collected the entire twos pot – a far cry from Sunday, when no fewer than 15 twos were scored!

Jason Kidley took third on 38 points.

An Edmondson double was completed in the Seniors Monthly events during November on Tuesday, as Ron Edmondson produced a stunning round of nett 62 to secure the Medal, seven days after Don won the Stableford.

After starting with back-to-back birdies, the five-handicapper added an eagle at the 10th in his round of 67, which was two under par.

This gave him a handicap reduction to four and also a two-stroke cushion in Division 1 over Barrie Tucker, with Charlie Doherty winning a countback for third on 66.

Division 2 belonged to Roger Williams, as he returned the only sub-par score in the second flight to claim victory.

The former Seniors captain beat par by one to win by the same margin over Roger Phillips and Colin Roberts, with Phillips awarded second spot after another countback.
