SOMERSET have announced the latest recruits to the Emerging Player Programme - and the winter activities will be getting underway at the start of November at the Centre of Excellence at the County Ground.

Henry Smeed, Oli Meadows, Will Smeed, Harvey Morland, Tom Walsh, Charles Clist and Ed Eminson have all joined the EPP.

Greg Kennis the Somerset Cricket Board head coach said: “Everything is now in place for the EPP this winter when we will be joined by some new players, who will take the place of two previous members who have progressed onto the Somerset Academy, Charley Reed and Louie Shaw.

“Henry Smeed is Under 13 and an all rounder, he is a top order batsman and fast bowler who is at Millfield Prep School and plays for Glastonbury Cricket Club.

“Oli Meadows is also Under 13 and is another top order batsman, he is at Clifton Prep and plays his cricket for Old Bristolians.

“The third new recruit is Sam Young who is going to be Under 15 next year, he is a batsman who also bowls off spin, he is at Millfield School and plays his cricket for Bath CC.

“The EPP will include a group session once a week on either a Monday or Tuesday afternoon, and they will also come in for a one to one session on a Thursday evening. In addition to this there will be a few Sunday sessions when they will join up with the Academy players.”
