THERE will be no speedway action at the Oaktree Arena this Friday (August 16) as the Somerset Rebels head to Scotland for the start of their three-match 'Scottish Tour.'
The weekend commences with the visit to Edinburgh's Scotwaste Arena, before the team return south to face Berwick on the Saturday night. The tour finishes with a match at Glasgow on the Sunday afternoon.
Team manager Garry May said: “Three matches in as many days is a tough ask, as it can place quite a strain on both rider and machinery, not to mention the team manager.
“But the team go north knowing that a good set of results and some league points gained on our travels can go a long way in not only consolidating our place in the play-offs but also our aim of finishing either first or second in the table which will give us the chance to pick our opposition in those play-offs.”
