THE ‘Cases’ Somerset Rebels welcome the BT Sport cameras to the Oaktree Arena tomorrow (Monday, August 14) for a live broadcast of their SGB Premiership encounter against Leicester Lions, writes Ian Belcher.

The Somerset promotion are reducing their normal admission prices to £10 for all adult categories, with kids being admitted free of charge.

2017 is the first season that BT Sport has shown live domestic speedway, and club promoter Debbie Hancock is keen to put on a good show for the cameras, both on and off the track.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to not only promote the ‘Cases’ Somerset Rebels, but also the region as a whole,” she said.

"What we would love is for the Oaktree Arena to be packed out with fans, with the glorious location providing a fitting backdrop to what promises to be some red-hot on-track action.

“We have slashed admission prices to just £10 for adults with free entry for kids, and alongside that we will have some terrific giveaways in the form of foam hands, flags, plastic bang stix, clapping hands, which we really want to see vigorously applauding in every race, together with sweets being given away to the young and not so young alike.

“And if that is not enough we will have a face painter and a balloon modeller for the kids, together with a very special competition for Monday night, when one lucky supporter can win a trip for two to New York, just by filling in a form!”

"It promises to be a carnival atmosphere here and hopefully not only will the Somerset fans all want to be part of it and come along to support the team, but also for people who may not have been to the watch the speedway action at the Oaktree Arena before, to take this opportunity to see what it is all about, and get themselves on TV in the bargain!”
