BURNHAM and Berrow’s Saturday Stableford Competition was dominated by 70-year-old member Brian Colome.

On a day when only three players managed to beat par, Brian scored 41 points to win Division 1 by three shots from Peter Faragher. Stephen Haines was third on 34 points.

With the wind blowing strongly, it was reductions only, but Brian had four birdies and took just 27 putts to achieve his outstanding round. His handicap has been reduced from eight to six.

In Division 2, Mark Parsons won with an excellent 38, followed by Anthony Gibson with 34 and Kevin Cheeseman with 31. Standard scratch was 75, par 71.
