Somerset County League Premier

Minehead 2, Berrow 0

BERROW suffered their second defeat of the season against Minehead despite new signing Kyle McErlain making his first start.

The first 20 minutes were shaded by the home side although they failed to create any clear openings. Berrow finally started to come into the game and for 20 minutes before half time started to dominate the game. Ellis Harper forced a brilliant save from the keeper after good work from Luke Morgan but despite their possession Berrow could not break the deadlock.

The second half saw the home side take the lead when a corner was sliced towards goal and despite a fine save from Harrison the Minehead striker was left with a tap in.

Berrow replied with chances for Ian Bellinger and Luke McErlain but despite a lot of effort Minehead sealed the win with ten minutes to go after a penalty was awarded and converted.

The team are at home to Clevedon United on Saturday for a 2.30pm kick-off.

Man of the match: Pete John.

Team: Harrison, John (Osgood), K.McErlain, White, Penfold (Watts), L.McErlain, Read, Hartnup, Bellinger, Morgan, Harper (Catlow) *BERROW have also signed striker Stuart Green from Highbridge Town.
