BERROW Reserves were left frustrated after their 1-1 draw with Winscombe Reserves in Division One at the weekend.

The team went a goal down in the first half but rescued the points after Richard Lambert reacted quickest following a goalmouth scramble from a corner.

They have one more game at Kewstoke Lions on Saturday before the Christmas break and manager Steve Eley said they can expect a tough match.

He said: “They are always a good side but I am happy with where we are in the league in what is our first year in it.

“I would rather have the points on the board – we will just keep going after Christmas and see how we get on.”

Division Two side Burnham United A picked up their second win of the season with a 2-1 victory at Clevedon United A.

The team are still rooted to the foot of the table but will be pleased with Saturday’s scalp over the second place side.

The scores were 0-0 at half time with Chinnock and Hirons going close but it was Clevedon who took the lead.

Burnham equalised with five minutes to go as 16-year-old Alex Plume, who was also man of the match, scored following a goalmouth scramble at a corner.

They then went on to win after Hirons latched on to a through ball from Worthington and coolly rounded the keeper to score with the last kick of the game.

Wedmore also prop up Division Three following their 1-0 loss at Portishead Town B while in Division Four, King Alfred Sports Centre claimed their second win of the season with a 3-2 victory at home to Weston Players.

Burnham United B lost out in a seven-goal thriller to Priory Rangers despite consolation goals from Josh Rowley, Ashley Plant and Steve Worthington.

The team have no more matches before Christmas now and will continue this season’s campaign in the New Year.

And in Division Six, Wedmore Reserves fell to a 3-1 defeat at home to AFC Nailsea Reserves.
