Benji holds on for Medal win at Brean Golf Club

THE final Seniors Medal of 2012 also produced probably the closest result of the calendar year as well. With the course very wet underfoot no less than 4 players handed in excellent nett 68's.

David Benjafield was the first of the 68's back into the clubhouse as he was in the first group out on the course but as the morning progressed his score was matched on 3 other occasions.

First Jim Wotton joined him in the lead and from the final group on the course Pat Mullholland and Wally Pape also returned the same score.

The computer worked overtime with the countback to separate the quartet but eventually Benjafield was awarded the win from Mullholland. Pape relegated Wotton into 4th but Wotton did score the only two of the day at the 9th and took home a healthy pot for that.
