Rich Hawkins leads the way in Shiplate Farm Winter Series round six

AFTER heavy overnight rain, the Shiplate Farm Winter Series match was going to be hard but the forecast was dry although it was tough to get the fish to feed on.

They fished on the two side lakes, Hawthorns and Westpool, and round six produced the following results: 1 Rich Hawkins peg 12 Westpool, 32lb 6oz (golden peg); 2 Steve Howell peg 9 Westpool, 27lb 6oz; 3 Pete Bartlett peg 2 Westpool, 24lb 6oz; 4 Simon Ryall peg 13 Westpool, 23lb 11oz; 5 Julian Pinkett peg 14 Hawthorns,17lb 1oz; 6 Tim Lewis peg 10 Westpool, 16lb 2oz. Silvers went to Julian Pinkett 1lb 8oz; section winners were Steve Howell and Simon Ryall, Mike Staite (Hawthorns peg 5) 14lb 2oz and Andy France (Hawthorns peg 10) 8lb 5oz.
