BURNHAM’s youngsters produced a superb performance to see off any threat posed by Winscombe.
The visitors started strongly but they were stopped in their tracks by last-minute tackles.
Burnham then took the opportunities that came their way as Manu created space, passed to Sam Elrick who dodged several tackles to sprint over the line – the only score of the half meaning Burnham lead 7-0 at the break.
In the second half, Winscombe once again made good inroads without seeing their efforts translate into points on the scoreboard.
But, ultimately, the stalwart Winscombe defence was breached. Good work from Manu saw Elrick score his second of the game with Manu adding the conversion.
The third try saw Elrick get his hat-trick and Manu’s immaculate kicking provided the extra points.
And the fourth try was a mazy run from Manu, who opened Winscombe up, dived through some weary tackling and slotted over the conversion to complete the win.
