Steve Cartwright on top in Burnham and Berrow Golf Club stableford

IN this week's stableford event, Steve Cartwright came out on top with a fine score of 37 points. Second was Rob Baber with 36 points and third Tim Blood with 35 points.

Division Two was won by Ian Moreton with 37 points ahead of Bryan Gunning with 36 points and Michael Armstrong with 31 points.

Burnham Ladies were at home to Long Sutton in the first round of the 'Mail On Sunday' Ladies Classic 2013.

The Burnham team of Mandy Vickers, Jane Powell, Pat Rowland, Jane Pitcher & Jean Booth played well to win a hard fought match 3-2. They now wait to find out which Club they will play in the second round.

The Burnham Ladies' Medal was won by Jackie Richards with an excellent gross score of 86 net 74. Melanie Bell was second with a respectable gross 93 net 77 & Jean Booth third with gross 99 net 83.

*BURNHAM and Berrow Golf Club are planning an open morning for juniors and ladies on March 17.

Juniors will be 10am to 12noon and ladies 12noon to 2pm. Anyone can come along and will have the chance to try the game for the first time or on a refresher basis.

The club's professionals will provide tuition on the practice ground and putting green. Members will be on hand to help and answer any questions.
