Bishops Lydeard 0, Berrow 4

BERROW turned in an excellent performance on Saturday to gain their first ever victory at Bishops Lydeard at the third attempt.

Harry Penfold returned to the team along with Ian Bellinger with Steve Osgood and Luke Morgan dropping to the bench while Nick Slack made his debut in goal taking over from Ash Harrison who will be out for six weeks with a broken foot.

Berrow started well with Bellinger causing problems down the right and Ellis Harper on the left had Berrows first opportunity firing over from just inside the box.

Lydeard are a talented side, whose league position belies their ability, and boasting the league's top marksman they were always a threat on the break, but the back four of Penfold, Kyle McErlain, Scott Lismore and Pete John were always in control.

Captain Jeff Read gave Berrow the lead on 30 minutes when Connor Watts laid off for him, he beat two defenders and finished well.

Lydeard were reduced to ten men and then Read then made it 2-0 just before half time with a stunning volley from 30 yards.

Lydeard threatened at the start of the second half but Watts sealed the win after being put through by Bellinger before tucking the ball past the onrushing keeper.

Read completed his hat-trick sending the keeper the wrong way to complete a deserved and convincing victory.

Man of the Match for Berrow was Read for a complete captains performance.

Team: Slack, John (Osgood), Penfold, K.McErlain, Lismore, Harper(Hartnup), Bellinger, L.McErlain, Read, Watts, Radford (Morgan)
