Weston and District League round up
BERROW Reserves' promotion hopes took a hit as they lost 3-2 to Cleeve West Town Reserves.
The team went 2-0 down after 15 minutes but managed to claw the game back to 3-2 at half-time thanks to goals from Tom Marshfield and Tommy Clarke.
Manager Steve Eley said they are not going to apply for promotion to the Somerset County League this season but has still set his targets for the rest of the season.
He said: “There were a few errors from the keeper, the defending was not great and those mistakes cost us.
“We were on the back foot and even though we played in the second half we couldn't break them down.
“The aim is to win all of our last four games of the season now.”
In Division Two, Burnham United 'A' fell to a 5-1 defeat at home to league leaders Yatton Athletic Reserves.
Only Andy Kitch's goal after 19 minutes gave the home side something to cheer about and they will look to bounce back this weekend with another home clash against Clevedon United 'A'.
Wedmore drew 3-3 in a goalfest at home in their Division Three league match against Portishead Town 'B'.
In Division Four, it was the same scoreline for King Alfred Sports Centre who drew at home to Nailsea United Colts.
Burnham United 'B' struggled to cope with Clevedon United 'B' on Saturday though as they fell to a 4-0 defeat.
