Burnham II 0, Ivel Barbarians 67

IT was a long day at the office for Burnham 2nds as they were undone 67-0 by Ivel Barbarians.

The home unit was very well balanced with strong mobile forwards and alert backs who linked very well from the base of the set piece.

But it was not long before Ivel Barbarians made their presence felt with a number of well drilled set pieces moves that had Burnham defending in their own 22.

The first real threatening move came from the visitors when Ben Gibb broke out supported by Ben Bowkett, Osbourne and Mike Nash but they were thwarted at the home sides 22 by being bundled into touch.

As the first half drew to a close Burnham again unleashed an onslaught deep into Ivel defensive territory only to be held up in the home sides 22.

In the second half, Burnham were was again frustrated by a solid defence from the visitors and even when the fresh legs of Tom Wall and Jon Edwards came on they couldn't score.

The team now have two weeks down time before their home clash with Wyvern on March 23.
