BRIDGWATER Sunday League booked their place in the final of the Somerset Mavis Tate Cup with a 3-2 semi-final win over Frome Sunday League.
Lee Oparowski, Chris Taylor and Piers Govier scored the goals for Bridgwater, who needed extra-time to score a winner.
Bridgwater were also indebted to goalkeeper Mark Fursland who saved a Frome penalty in the last minute of extra time to prevent a shootout.
In Division three of the Uxella League, Red Tile Reserves thrashed lowly Rhode Lane 7-0 thanks to hat-tricks from Ronnie Robilliard (4) and Bradley Hayes.
Elsewhere in the Division, Jamie Merrick bagged a hat-trick for Cobblestones as they hammered Huntspill Crowns 6-3.
Charlie Lintell added two and Steve Haste scored once.
ROF were 1-0 winners at North Petherton thanks to Arron Huxtable’s goal.
In Division One, Pawlett Rebels came out on top in a eight-goal thriller with New Foresters – winning 5-3.
Simon Coombes (2), Dean Taylor, Adam Lawrence and Ben Rich netted for Pawlett – Charlie Baker, Tom Neale and Josh Smith did likewise for New Foresters.
Second-placed Cornhill missed the opportunity to go top after drawing 2-2 with Ramblers.
Steve Addicot and Mike Hart were on target for Cornhill, but Joe Cresswell and Phillip Court replied for Ramblers.
Puriton and Willow Green shared six goals in a 3-3 draw to give the visitors their first point of the season.
Kered Pople, Tiago Antonio and Igors Kruznecovs all scored for Willow – while Scott Hawkins, Josh Champion and Troy Jennings bagged Puriton’s goals.
