BURNHAM maintained the pressure on leaders Ivybridge with a bonus-point victory at sixthplaced Penryn on Saturday.
The visitors ran in five tries courtesy of Stuart Blake (2), Mike Hocking (2) and Ben Stillman, while Tom Chatsby added 11 points from the tee.
Burnham started brightly and found themselves 17-0 up inside ten minutes as Stuart Blake ran in two converted tries and Chatsby added a penalty.
The driving maul was working well for the visitors and they continued to kick well for position.
Hooker Hocking bundled his way over from another maul and flanker Stillman crossed in identical fashion.
Hocking added his second midway through the second half, before a mild fightback from Penryn brought the score line closer together.
l Burnham remain second in Western Counties West, seven points behind leaders Ivybridge.
They travel to St Ives on Saturday hoping to record an 11th win of the season.
Burnham 2nd XV failed to muster a team for las Saturday’s scheduled visit to second-placed Tor II, who were awarded the points.
This weekend, they hope to be at full strength when they entertain rivals Bridgwater & Albion III, who are struggling third from bottom in Somerset 2 South.
