BURNHAM Swimming Club have been making the most of their improved facilities after new starting blocks were installed at Brean Splash, the club’s training base.
The six-lane pool is now fully equipped for galas and training as well as the centre’s learn-to-swim programme.
The new blocks are a joint venture between the club and Brean Splash with some of the money being raised by events undertaken and organised by swimmers, teachers and parents.
Sally Plume, chairman of Burnham-on-Sea Swimming Club, said: “The swimmers were really pleased to have them fitted and to get to use them in training sessions.
“Burnham-on-Sea Swimming Club has seen a steady growth in our numbers since moving last September to Brean and this has been helped by the fact Brean Splash has been extremely welcoming and supportive of our needs.”
