Somerset County Shield semi-final
Burnham United Under-16s 1 Bath Arsenal 0
TEN-man Burnham United secured a 1-0 victory over a strong Bath Arsenal side at the weekend to book their place in the final of the Somerset County Shield.
The game was won through hard work and guts by the whole team with various players having to play out of their normal positions.
Burnham started the stronger and after a near miss by hard-working Rosser went 1-0 up via an edge of the box shot by Harding.
Bath pushed forward with the back three of White, Durrant and Costello playing superbly, and James in goal made two stunning reaction saves and was assured throughout.
Though Bath had most of the play in the second half, Burnham, through Nix, Podbury, Jefferies, Harding and, of course, Rosser were always a threat on the break.
United held out for the win, and though the whole team deserves great credit the joint Barrington & Sons man of the match went to Chaz White and Nathan James.
