THE Division Two title in the Highbridge & District Skittles League will be decided by a play-off between the Social Club and Odds & Ends after the latter defeated the former by five pins at the Berrow Club in the last game of the season.

The Odds & Ends were indebted to Dave Williams, who scored 85, including five spares.

Only a last hand of 93 by the Social Club which pulled 21 pins made the game a lot closer than it really was, so the teams will now meet on a neutral alley in the decider.

Off The Rails have finished third after they demolished Misfits by 55 pins at the Lighthouse Inn.

Mark Pearse, 70, and Darren Morgan, 78, top scored for the Rails, but they were upstaged by Paul Bagg, who scored 87, but he had little support from his teammates.

In Division Three, Nobby’s One are champions after a nailbiting two-pin victory over Juniors at the Crown.

They finish a point ahead of runners-up Brent Knoll Inn, who defeated the Berrow Hotel by 44 pins at home.

Alleycats have finished third after they lost their last match against bottom team Bombardiers, losing by 42 pins at the Pawlett Legion with Phil Middleton top scoring with 86.

Outsiders are Division Four champions despite losing to near rivals Outcasts by 50 pins at the Bristol Bridge Inn – Stuart Taylor hit 77.

Outcasts finish second ahead of White Rebels, who defeated Rafascals by 21 pins at the Bason Bridge Inn thanks to Martin Rich (75).

There will be no league and cup double for the Bombers this year after they were beaten by the Steamers at the Railway Inn by 26 pins in the knock-out cup semi-final.

Ian Skinner, 72, and Mark Cozens, 78, were the party poopers for the Steamers, who will play in the final against the Gunners, who defeated The Hedgejumpers by 20 pins at the Crown Inn – Richard Bamsey was the stand-out skittler with 74.

The Second Chance Cup final will be played between the Social Club and the Four Finger Club.

The Social Club, who have enjoyed a great season, defeated The Little Acorns by 20 pins at the Watchfield Inn, Alan Sealey top scoring for the Social and Wayne Hand enjoying a 25 double flopper for the Acorns as he top scored with 74.

The Four Finger Club produced one of their best performances of the season as they defeated The Lads by 39 pins at the Lympsham Pavilion, Phil White and Colin Fouracres being the heroes, scoring 71 apiece.
