FOLLOWING last Friday's quarter-final exit from the Knockout Cup, the Somerset Rebels turn their attentions back to Premier League matters with the visit of the Glasgow Tigers to the Oaktree Arena tomorrow evening (Friday).

Glasgow are led by German international Kevin Wölbert at number one - the ex-Edinburgh rider joined the Tigers for 2014, with another ex-Monarch, Dutchman Theo Pijper, the captain of the Glasgow side.

The Rebels are awaiting injury updates on both Olly Allen (dislocated shoulder) and Pontus Aspgren (mild concussion and a minor hand injury) prior to confirming their line-up, but are hopeful that both will be sufficiently recovered from the knocks sustained in yesterday's match at Newcastle to take their respective places in the Somerset side.

“The boys are really looking to make up for that KO Cup exit with another good home performance,” said Somerset team manager Garry May, “Glasgow may currently be in the lower reaches of the Premier League table, but they have riders who generally perform well at the Oaktree Arena, so we cannot take anything for granted and need to be on top form in order to take all three matches points.”

"At this stage of things it is too early to say whether Olly and Pontus will be fit enough to ride on Friday, we hope to have a clearer picture of how they are by the middle of the week, when we will take stock of the situation once I have had an opportunity to speak with them both and get an update on their respective injuries."
