Burnham II 60 lost to Taunton St Andrews A 258-8 by 198 runs
BURNHAM seconds slumped to a disastrous 198-run defeat at the hands of Taunton St Andrews A on Saturday.
The visitors collapsed to just 60 all out in pursuit of an imposing 258-5 - with Andy Ashfold scoring more than half of the runs with 36 not out.
No other batsman made it into double figures for Burnham, who had earlier been given the run-around by the Saints' batsmen.
Cain Harding (3-47) and Andy Birkett (2-65) were the wicket-takers for Burnham, but S Pimm (148) ensured it would be a long afternoon in the field.
J Webster (53) plundered a quick-fire half-century batting at number four, after Harding had removed both openers early on in proceedings.
The Burnham reply never really got going, as only Ashfold could provide any form of resilience to the Saints' attack.
R Maslen (5-16) did the majority of the damage with an impressive opening spell, on an afternoon to forget for Burnham.
