Somerset County League Division One West

Glastonbury 3, Burnham United 0

A BELOW par performance from Burnham United saw them slip to a comprehensive 3-0 defeat at Glastonbury on Saturday.

United went 1-0 down just before the break when they conceded from a corner, the first time stand-in 'keeper Croucher had been tested.

The first half had been an even affair right up until the goal, but Glastonbury rallied after the break and Croucher was forced into a brave save outside of his box, taking a heavy knock in the process.

He played out the rest of the game and was left helpless when Glastonbury doubled their lead in similar fashion from another corner.

Burnham had created very little throughout the 90 minutes and as they began to commit more players forward, the home side took full advantage to catch them on the break.

The third goal gave the score line a slightly flattering look, but Burnham will be hoping for a big improvement when they welcome Clevedon United on Saturday (3pm KO).
