Tribute Somerset Two South
Burnham II 85, Tor II 0
BURNHAM second XV started their Somerset Two South league campaign with an emphatic home win over Tor last Saturday.
Both sides respectfully marked the passing of a Tor player with a minute’s silence before the kick-off.
Matt Love opened the scoring on seven minutes and from here on in, the floodgates opened fur Burnham to run riot.
Tor could only muster 13 players for the game and the hosts exploited the numerical difference throughout the afternoon. Elliot Donelly, Jack Pope, James Osgood and Matt Love all crossed again before the game was through – while Matt Mitchell was on form with the boot to add the conversions.
An injury to Rob Webber (dislocated shoulder) marred what was a fantastic afternoon for Burnham’s second XV.
They continue their league campaign this Saturday away at Ivel Barbarians, 3pm kick-ff.
Burnham RFC always welcomes new players to the club - with training on Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm.
