THE bottom teams in the Burnham, Highbridge & District Ladies’ Skittles League’s Premier Division all had something to smile about after this week’s matches as they finally got points on the table.

Bristols had a 13-pin victory over Nitwits, while Crown Jewels had Janet Coggins 73, Sue Marsh 71 and Pat Grimes 63 to pull the switch on Lightbulbs by 30 pins.

Eight Belles, with Lorna Williams on 61, had a good win over Country Girls and Maybee’s finally gained their first points against Pin Ups at the 37 Club.

In Division 1, the table is headed by Berrow Breezers who took the points from Victoria Vixens and Wayward Wanderers, despite losing their match against Nightmares at the Crossways Inn by 70 pins.

Tri-ards finally made it on to the table after beating Young Ones.

In Division 2, Bombers made a good start leading by 17 – Chris Clayton 66 and Norma Morris 65 – but were gradually overtaken by Coasters who won by ten.

Burnham Utd remain the only unbeaten team in the league as they found Highbridge Social Club to their liking and beat home team Old Railway by eight.

Pawlett Legion took the match as they saw off Coopers Boozers by five, while Red Devils were unlucky to lose by three to Applecatchers.
