GRAHAM Blake, of the Steamers B, had four spares in his total of 83 at the Basonbridge Inn as his side defeated the Rovers B by 36 pins in the third round of the Highbridge & District Skittles League 4-a-side cup competition.
However, Steamers A came unstuck against Off The Rails A, going down by two in a terrific match, 259-261.
At the Lympsham Pavillion, Cowboys A defeated Radio Social A by three thanks to Dave Luff’s 78.
The Poachers B defeated Cowboys B by four.
After opening hands of 47 and 46 they found themselves 36 up.
The Cowboys fought back and a last hand of 53 left the Poachers needing a tricky 29 to win, which they duly obliged by scoring 32 and registering the highest team score of the night with a score of 277.
