BURNHAM have slipped to second from bottom in Western Counties North and are now without a win in five following a heavy defeat at Newent on Saturday.
The visitors had just a single try to show for their efforts in Gloucester and are now four points from safety.
Newent dominated this contest from start to finish and Burnham really had no answer to anything the hosts threw at them.
Burnham will be hoping to begin 2015 with a win when they host North Bristol at the BASC Ground, before travelling to high-flying Chew Valley on January 10.
Avon are the visitors the following weekend as Burnham head into a defining period of their season.
Burnham 2nd XV were given a walkover in Saturday’s game against Ivel Barbarians – they remain fourth in Somerset Two South and begin 2015 with a trip to mid-table Somerton, before hosting promotion-chasing Morganians on January 10.
Burnham II are 14 points off leaders Wyvern and eight off secondplaced Morganians.
