Bridgwater Town Reserves 3, Berrow 3

BERROW’S second-half performance rescued a point in a pulsating local derby at Fairfax Park on Saturday.

The visitors fought back from 2-0 down to earn a point, thanks to goals from Jack Taylor, Dave Keirle and Byron Lismore.

With barely a minute on the clock of the second-half Berrow dragged themselves back into the game when Jack Taylor, returning from a four-game suspension, latched onto a long clearance from Chris Warner and coolly lifted the ball over the advancing keeper.

Berrow were denied an equaliser when Shaun Lismore's effort was cleared off the line by Town skipper Josh White.

From that effort, Town caught Berrow on the counter and went 3-1 ahead, Matt Connick providing a cool finish.

But the visitors went again, Taylor again racing onto Keirle's through ball after some tidy build up play to apply his 26th finish of the season. After Ash Catlow rattled the bar it seemed only a matter of time before Berrow drew level, but the hosts were looking equally as dangerous on the break.

Finally Berrow were rewarded when Luke McErlain's delightfully weighted free kick was met at the far post by Byron Lismore who powered his header home.

Berrow could have even snatched the lead when Taylor rounded the keeper and hit the post - Keirle followed up but saw his difficultly struck effort bounce agonisingly over the bar.

A great game enjoyed by the 135-strong crowd and hopefully not the last time the fixture will be played, Berrow wish all of the Bridgwater Reserves staff and players the best of luck in their quest to continue playing.
