TWO more Jones' will have their names engraved onto the impressive Presidents Day Trophy this year as the names of Paul and Eric Jones join that of 2014 winner Steve.

Last year's club captain Paul and his Uncle Eric dovetailed perfectly as they blitzed their way round the course accumulating 47 points on the way.

This was all the more remarkable as they failed to score at all on the tough seventh hole.

This score gave them a two-point winning margin over their playing partners for the day Richard Triscott and Les Clutterbuck.

That fourball group amassed an amazing 92 points between them as the nett birdies and eagles flowed regularly.

Third place went to Graham Foy and Dave Morgan another two points back on 43 which was one ahead of Steve Bateman and Paul McLanaghan who claimed fourth.

More success for the Jones’s came as Steve Jones won the April Stableford the previous Sunday with an impressive 39 point score on a deceptively tricky day for scoring.

He topped the Division One score charts four points ahead of Roger Vaughan. Dave Bradley was the only other player to beat his handicap as he won the Second Division with 37 points, 3 clear of Tony Richards.

Four players posted 32 points in Division Three with Roger Phillips winning a countback to take the award from Les Byrne, Trevor Searle and Dai Wood. Annie Williams won the Ladies Stableford with 33 points.

Tony Bissett scored 42 points to take the top spot in the penultimate Super Series Qualifying round of the campaign on Sunday. He won by one from the in-form Tony Higgins and Ian Adams was third on 40pts in a day of good scoring.

The seniors team travelled away to Woodspring last week but returned back on the wrong end of a heavy defeat.

They will look to avenge their 5.5 to 0.5 drubbing in the return fixture later in the year.
