Wedmore 176 beat Fitzhead 151 by 25 runs
PHIL Patch scored 80 not out for Wedmore as they edged to a 25-run victory over Fitzhead on Saturday.
Patch was the mainstay of the Wedmore innings as they were bowled out for 176 in the final over of the innings, with S Morris (36) the only other player to contribute to the total.
With the ball, Wedmore were in charge from the very start and took the first four Fitzhead wickets before the score had reached 50.
B Burgess (3-40) and B Halford (4-38) were chief destroyers for Wedmore with seven wickets between them – while there was also wickets for M Wall (2-27) and D Haining (1-5).
D Burton (34) and S Nelson (26) top scored for Fitzhead, but the latter was the last wicket to fall to complete a narrow win for Wedmore.
