Murray Parsons is a man on form at Brean at the moment and he made it a 'win double' for the weekend as he racked up 42 points to win the Lukee Christmas Cup on Sunday. He also collected his second Winter League win in recent weeks the previous day to go alongside the Christmas Scramble victory he had last weekend in his hot run of form.

It was his third success in the Lukee Cup and he has now got his name on the Cup in three different decades! The back nine of his round was crucial as Captain Elect Andy Thomas also matched that score but Parsons back nine was marginally better giving him top spot. Third place on the day in both Division One and overall went to Steve Jones on 41. Another countback was required in Division Two as Chris Organ and Martyn Cahill both returned 37 points with Cahill just shading it on the back nine. Kevin Davies won the Third flight with 35 points ahead of Gordy Wheelaghan on 31. Jenny Vaughan was the Ladies winner.

Shot of the day came from Dan Broom on the 9th hole as his tee shot on the 162yd par 3 came to rest in the bottom of the hole. Playing into a stiff breeze his 4 iron was the club to complete his Ace as he scooped the rollover Two's pot of £89. On the day 4 other two's were scored (Broom also made one of these at the 17th!) but they went home empty handed. They did however enjoy the customary drink bought by Broom in the clubhouse afterwards.

Parsons yet again proved to be the player to beat in windy weather. The (now former) ten handicapper was the only player only the day to reach the 'par' figure of 36 points in the strong wind. He won by one from Steve Mason with Tony Richards in third on 34 after he won a countback with Leighton Jenkins and Gordy Wheelaghan.

Dai Wood is the partner everyone wants this at the moment in the Seniors Winter League. He racked up his third win of the campaign as he partnered Ray Byatt and Chris Stephens to top spot in the Three Ball Betterball on Thursday morning. They scored 124 over the 15 hole contest and beat Charlie Hastie, Alan Marshall and Dave Benjafield by one. Third place was claimed by Ken Ponter, Mike Allen and Roger Phillips on 127.

The final Seniors Monthly Stableford of 2015 was claimed by Ken Ponter with an excellent card of 38 points. He beat 'a pair of Barrie's' into 2nd and 3rd with the Yearsley variety taking the runners up spot on 33 points and the Tucker version ending up 3rd on 32.
